Well said, OP. Rugged individualism & free enterprise have been proven successful and have allowed all peoples the "pursuit of happiness" as guaranteed in the Constitution. The have built the most successful, most free, & strongest society the world has ever known, a rising tide which has floated all boats from rich to poor.
Even with current economic difficulties, it is why the poor from across the globe still fight to get into the USA rather then any other country.
Apparently some people are completely unaware of the millions of Africans and Middle Easterners who "fight to get into" Europe. Illegal immigration is at least as big a problem there as it is in the US.
