My confession is that I'm glad to live in Germany!

It seems like the whole world is going down: US, Greece, Italy, Spain, Ireland, UK etc. The populations are getting poorer and poorer. They just cut, cut and cut and raise taxes.

It's so surreal!

You see those countries in the TV with their riots and you feel like an Island. Like you don't live on the same continent or the same world. When you turn off the TV everything is fine - at least in your country. We even lowered the taxes and spent more on social welfare and yet our deficit is sinking and we're surplus country.

Germany, Bitches!

Unfortunately, you do live on the same continent and in the same world. You share the same currency with some of those countries. If they go down, they're taking you with them. Sorry.

ehm, yeah, great.

at first, germay is not the only nation what doesn't have roits going on at the moment (just look at skandinavia) - beside the fact that the protests you mention also have different backgrounds. then you also might be a member of the middle- or upper-class, because germany got poverty, even with the social walfare-programms (i guess a family living on hartzIV wouldn't agree to your expressed happyness) ...and please forget the "raise" of it, because inflation will get rid of this few euros.
and i can remember a nice thing called ESFS which will basically eat up a lot of the money thats coming in now... but fuck yeah, let's give the struggeling liberal-capitalistic coalition-junior-partner FDP a nice "victory" and lower taxes right after giving out billions of securities for greece ... after merkel had herself celebrated as an "iron cancelor" for not giving greece a dime. oh, the irony.
but yeah, we are so super, and everything is fine... just because germans doesn't have the balls to go on the street whenever they don't like something doesn't mean we are fine with everything happening. our federal-p******** is corrupt and lied to the hole nation on live-television, but hey, he looks good and seems nice, so half of the population wants him to stay... and only 400 people got the courage to demonstrate against him so far... in italy there would have been 4000 or more people, every week. but we germans are too lazy and stay at home watching tv ... why am i reminded of fahrenheit 451 all of a sudden?

We have a surplus in trade and thats what matters. No one cares about the 1 percent deficit. We have the most resilient economy in the world! Two lost world wars and the absorption of a basically third world country couldn't break us.

A couple of days ago investors PAID US so they can borrow us money.

I don't think the Euro will go down. But even if it will go down, we will survive it.

I think its pretty funny that Americans think there is a "Euro crisis".. even Spain has less debts per person than the US...
Europe is in a far better position than the US

Nope, I'm just happy to not live in the US or Italy or France or any other country that is going down the drain. Actually, I really love the US and it breaks my heart that your country is in this shape.

I love Europe and it is stronger than some people believe.
It's that feeling, that you know you can live anywhere in Europe without visa etc you just move there. There aren't any borders and hardly any border controlls and our crime rate is lower than in the US.
And if you are in a foreign country and you get in trouble but there isn't any embassy of your country around. I dont care, i just go to the Italian or Swedish Embassy and they get me back home.
It's a solidarity that grew after WW II and that made Europe strong after this horrible war.

And to that idiot above...
He is German = He is a Nazi. Sure...
Who is the Nazi of you both??

Did you hear the news that S&P lowered the ratings for France, Austria, Italy and many other EU-Countries today? They are no longer Triple A countries anymore. But they didn't dare to take on us!

Still Triple A, Baby! Yeah!

Not American not biased but balanced. You will believe that is presented and succumb to the lesser. Your thought is to preserve your own dominance and to feel
vision-able. Argue amongst each other and let the main office of procedures allow it to happen. Keep them arguing, let them purchase, let them view their lives as something but nothing. The cogs of humanity ..has an ENGINE.

Debt to GDP is all that matters and the US has a ratio of about 1, much better than many european countries. Also the dollar is easily safer than the euro; look at the exchange rate over the past few months. Euro WILL collapse in 2012 which will buttfuck germany back to the bronze age.

Europe is general is just massively fucked. So is the US but europe is worse. Spain has 20% unemployment (like 35% youth unemployment), UK is becoming a shithole multicultural socialist nanny state, the Scandinavian countries are going to go into huge debts within the next 2 decades because of low birth rate and huge social infrastructure, etc.

Basically we are all fucked but I am glad I live in the US, we have the 4th highest HDI (quality of life) index in the world, behind norway, australia and the netherlands.
