@Clarence90 So, the siphon effect, if I'm remembering correctly, has to do with the supply of oxygen being delivered to your brain based on blood pressure. When being hanged, that woman's blood flow is being restricted as the noose presses on the veins and arteries in her neck. Arteries, being higher pressure vessels, get some blood through but the veins are closed off more, so blood builds up in her head and pressure increases.
