Kenyan All Girls Boarding School receives WiHood's virtual PC service for their 465 students
Updated: 03/20/2009

WiHood's commitment to bridging the digital divide and social entrepreneurship has expanded into Kenya. WiHood will provide its virtual PC desktop service to the Chelelemunk All Girls Boarding School in Kenya.

All 465 girls attending the Chelelemunk boarding school will have their own WiHood virtual PC which includes office applications, learning software, games and online storage. WiHood is working with the school to provide local internet access via a GPRS-to-WiFi connection from the local Kenyan mobile operator.

WiHood is also assisting the school with the purification of its local drinking water container. On a daily basis, the girls of the school walk several kilometers to bring fresh water back to the school. With WiHood's assistance, the local drinking water will be purified for consumption and prevent illnesses amongst the girls and faculty.

WiHood is committed to bridging the digital divide and bringing opportunities and possibilities to the world's children.

The WiHood / Chelelemunk School project begins in April 2009.
